Dynasty Athletics Youth Recreation Softball is operating under the David Douglas Softball Association (D.D.S.A.). We are a non-profit team with volunteer coaching and board members. Your board members are listed on the title 'Coaching and Board Members' page, along with contact information. Any and all fundraising, team events, and registrations will be handled by this board. As a non-profit, all fundraising is directly funded to the teams and program equipment (i.e. helmets, uniforms, softballs, etc.). As stated before, this program is all volunteer based, so none of our coaching staff or board members receive compensation.

  • All practices are expected to attend all practices and games.
  • Any illness or other reason that causes a player to miss practice should be reported to the appropriate coach.
  • Players need to be on time to games and practices prepared with all needed equipment/uniform.
  • When a coach is speaking, all players are expected to stop talking, give their full attention, eye contact, be engaged and responsive.
  • Players should not offer excuses, complaints, or negative comments. The coaching staff cares for each player, our goal is to push them to reach their full potential. They can do hard things and overcome challenges because it may not be easy, but it will be worth it.
  • Practices are an extension of how we will play in a game, effort and intensity are to be maximized. Practices are going to challenge you, to prepare and work through mistakes so players feel relaxed and have fun while playing in games.
  • Inappropriate language or actions will not be tolerated.

  • As with our players, parents also represent Dynasty Athletics, we expect parents to act with a higher set of standards than we expect from our players. Parents are the role models.
  • Playing Time.    The Rec level is focused on player development and growth, with fair and equal playing time. Dynasty Softball players have a range of skill levels and as long as they’re competing, learning from mistakes and giving 100% effort, coaches will be supportive. It is the responsibility of the player first to talk to the coach about playing time, not the parents.
  • 24 Hour Policy.    The coaching staff has a 24 hour “cool down” period after games before we meet with parents to discuss something that happened. Never approach a coach after the game to discuss a problem or issue you may have (unless it’s a health or safety emergency).
  • Manners Matter.      Nothing is better for a young player than having their parents/family and friends present to watch them play. But nothing is worse for a player than hearing a parent using foul language, booing, taunting, screaming or making comments at, or about, players, coaches, fans or officials (that includes our team as well as the opponent). Offer applause and cheers of encouragement for both teams following a good play or a great effort, otherwise stay neutral when mistakes happen and be a spectator.
  • Never question an official.     Officials are part of the game. Parents should demonstrate proper behavior to the players. It is not the parent’s job (or the players) to officiate the game. Coaches can have a discussion with the officiates but we all will need to accept the final call and move on. Remember being an official is not an easy job and mistakes happen and are part of the game.
  • Motivate Your Athlete.     Try and identify a positive from every game or practice to help build confidence. A player’s sense of achievement is the greatest motivator. Don’t over analyze your player’s performance following every game, the coaching staff will discuss needed improvements. Each player knows how they played, encouraging them to focus on what they did well and what they can improve on for their long-term growth and relationship with the game and themselves.
  • HAVE FUN!    Games have a winner and a loser. Keep reminding your player about this reality and the need to deal with both outcomes. On hard days, they may not need a “solution”, instead they may just need to vent and get their emotions out in order to let go and move forward. A parent’s critique is amplified in these heated situations, your words and actions mean more than you know.
